Battlefield 5 Best Weapons For Each Class
Depending on your play style, you may begin to favor one weapon over the others. This gun will be different for many players, but in general, there will be a few weapons that are best suited to each of the four classes. We’ve listed the Best Battlefield 5 Guns for each Class below, based on our time spent with Battlefield V so far.
Battlefield 5 Best Sniper Rifle
What is the Best Sniper Rifle in Battlefield 5? All BF5 Sniper Rifles Ranked
#1 LEE-ENFIELD NO.4 MK I
The Lee-Enfield No.4 Mk I is the starting weapon of the Recon class and is unlocked by default. Of all the bolt-action rifles in the game, the weapon has the largest magazine capacity and highest fire rate, at the cost of a categorically lowest muzzle velocity of 600 m/s. These characteristics make the weapon more suited for medium-range engagements than its counterparts, with the rapid cycling and generous capacity being more forgiving in the event of missed shots. Per-shot damage is low but consistent, with only a difference of 5 damage between its maximum and minimum per-shot effect.
Lee-Enfield No4 Mk1 Details:
- Unlock: Recon Rank 1
- Fire Mode: Bolt-Action
- Rate-of-Fire: 72 RPM
- Max Damage: 65
- Bullet-Velocity: 600 m/s
- Partial Reload: 3-7.5 seconds
- Empty Reload: 3-7.5 seconds
- Mag: 10/50
#2 KAR98K
The Kar98K is the final unlock for the Recon kit, granted at rank 20 of the respective class. The Kar98k performs best at the range, with both the second-highest muzzle velocity (tied with the Krag-Jørgensen) and damage in class. However, it has the lowest default rate of fire in its weapon category and a mediocre magazine capacity of five rounds, which can be reloaded using a stripper clip unless the Medium or Long Range Scope is equipped.
Kar98k Details:
- Class: Scout
- Unlock: Recon Rank 20
- Fire Mode: Bolt-Action
- Rate-of-Fire: 49 RPM
- Max Damage: 75
- Bullet-Velocity: 900 m/s
- Partial Reload: 1.73-3.77 seconds
- Empty Reload: 1.73-3.77 seconds
- Mag: 5/45
#3 GEWEHR M95/30
The Gewehr M95/30 is unlocked for the Recon kit at class rank 6. Compared to its appearance in Battlefield 1 the weapon has a much-reduced rate of fire, having been eclipsed in a class by the Lee-Enfield No.4 Mk I, however, the weapon is still the second-best in this regard. Maximum damage is the highest in its class, and damage drop-off does not occur until 30m, which is 10m longer than most other bolt-actions, which allows the weapon to stand a better chance of picking off wounded players at medium distance. The Gewehr M95/30 also has a consistent reload time due to its en-bloc clip, resulting in a faster reloading process when the rifle is completely empty, and one that is not affected by the use of long-range optics.
Gewehr M95/30 Details:
- Unlock: Recon Rank 6
- Rate of Fire: 58 RPM
- Max Damage: 80
- Rate-of-Fire: 58 RPM
- Bullet Velocity: 750 m/s
- Partial Reload: 3.2 seconds
- Empty Reload: 3.2 seconds
- Mag: 5/45
#4 ROSS RIFLE MK III
The Ross Rifle Mk III shares the same damage model as the Lee-Enfield No.4 Mk I, which drops from 65 to 60 damage at a maximum distance of 60m distance, but with a higher muzzle velocity of 750 m/s. Its magazine capacity of five is standard, with the Ross capable of being loaded either with single bullets or full clips. The rifle’s main strength is its relatively fast rate of fire at 64 RPM, which left unmodified is only exceeded by the Lee-Enfield. Considering its low damage drop-off and mediocre projectile velocity, the Ross is generally suited to closer range engagements favored by the Lee-Enfield, where its ability to deliver quick follow-up shots can be more effectively utilized and the required leading applied to moving targets is minimal.
Ross Rifle Mk III Details:
● Unlock Cost: 1,700 Company Coins
● Fire Mode: Bolt-Action
● Rate-of-Fire: 64 RPM
● Max Damage: 65
● Bullet-Velocity: 750 m/s
● Partial Reload: 2.6-4.4 seconds
● Empty Reload: 3.67 seconds
● Mag: 5/45
#5 TYPE 99 ARISAKA
The Arisaka performs almost identically to the Gewehr M.95/30 possessing the same high damage up close that drops off steeply at 30m and an RPM of 58 that can be upgraded to 67 with the machined bolt upgrade. Velocity is at 750m/s which is the same as the Ross MkIII and Gewehr M.95/30. One notable aspect of the Arisaka is that none of the scopes get in the way of the loading gate of the gun meaning that unlike the Lee Enfield or the Kar98, the Arisaka can reload using 5-round stripper clips on 3x and 6x scopes.
Type 99 Arisaka Details:
● Unlocked at: Recon Rank 1
● Fire Mode: Bolt-Action
● Rate-of-Fire: 58 RPM
● Max Damage: 80
● Bullet-Velocity: 750 m/s
● Partial Reload: 3.46-4.96 seconds
● Empty Reload: 3.67 seconds
● Mag: 5/45
#6 KRAG-JØRGENSEN
The Krag-Jørgensen is unlocked at Recon class rank 13. The Krag has the lowest maximum damage per shot of all the bolt-action rifles, however, this damage is consistent across all ranges with no drop-off, meaning that despite lackluster base values the weapon is still capable of a one-shot headshot even at extreme range. Combat at such ranges is aided by the high muzzle velocity of 900 m/s, which ties it with the Kar98k. Possibly the most unique feature of the Krag-Jørgensen is its reload process, as it is the only bolt-action with a +1 capacity, one more than all its contemporaries barring the Lee-Enfield No.4 Mk I. However, it cannot use stripper clips and must be reloaded one round at a time. As such, using Iron Sights does not convey any reload speed benefits.
Krag-Jorgensen Details:
● Unlocked at: Recon 13
● Fire Mode: Bolt-Action
● Rate-of-Fire: 55 RPM
● Max Damage: 60
● Bullet-Velocity: 900 m/s
● Partial Reload: 3.1-6.9 seconds
● Empty Reload: 3.1-6.9 seconds
● Mag: 6/48
All in all, the Lee Enfield sniper rifle is the perfect choice for an all-rounder when you’re looking for the best sniper rifle in Battlefield V.
The others that we have listed above are better if you’re more experienced with sniper rifles and are after pure firepower.

Battlefield 5 Best Medic Weapons
What are the Best Medic Weapons in Battlefield 5? All BF5 Medic Guns Ranked
Medics in Battlefield 5 are meant to always be on the front lines, healing and reviving teammates as they fall. Though it’s not impossible, you won’t have much luck going against assault rifles or semi-autos. Medics excel at CQC combat, however, so don’t take this advantage lightly.
#1 MP34
The MP34 is better suited than most in its weapon category for longer-distance firefights and is distinct amongst SMGs for benefiting greatly from stationary, aimed fire. Its lowest rate of fire in its class at 514 RPM and low per-shot recoil both assist in consistently hitting targets at medium range, as does its damage model that is initially identical to the generic SMG damage curve but with slightly lower damage drop-off past 50m resulting in marginally higher minimum damage. However, in spite of having the highest unmodified muzzle velocity in class at 495 m/s, this is still quite a low relative to other medium-range weapon classes, potentially complicating engagements at distance. These characteristics also mean the weapon is generally worse at close range than other SMGs because of its longer time-to-kill. Also unimpressive is the 20-round magazine when stocked.
MP34 Details:
- Unlocked at: Medic Rank 16
- Fire modes: Automatic | Semi-Automatic
- Rate of Fire: 514 RPM | 599 RPM (Light Bolt)
- Max Damage: 25.1
- Bullet-Velocity: 495 m/s – 560 m/s (High-Velocity Bullets)
- Partial Reload: 2.40 seconds
- Empty Reload: 3.35 seconds
- Magazine: 20 Rounds | 32 Rounds (Extended Magazine)
#2 EMP
The EMP occupies the statistical middle ground between the low-recoil, moderate fire rate STEN and MP40 and the less controllable, higher rate SMGs starting with the MP28. In this regard, the EMPs fire rate of 568 RPM and mediocre vertical and horizontal recoil shifts its optimum engagement range closer than the STEN, with a subsequent reduction in long-range accuracy. Its damage profile, muzzle velocity, and a magazine capacity of 30 rounds are all within average boundaries for its weapon class. Its only major drawback is a slow empty magazine reload.
EMP Details:
- Unlocked at: Medic Rank 13
- Fire modes: Automatic | Semi-Automatic
- Rate of Fire: 568 RPM
- Max Damage: 25.1
- Bullet-Velocity: 420 m/s
- Partial Reload: 2.26 seconds
- Empty Reload: 3.66 seconds
- Magazine: 32 Rounds
#3 MP28
The MP28 weapon can be considered an alternative to the high rate of fire submachine guns of the Suomi KP/-31 and M1928A1, considering its moderate to high rate of 670 RPM. It improves upon these weapons with a larger standard magazine of 30 rounds, which is only slightly below the categorical standard of 32 rounds, in addition to possessing low vertical recoil. However, the presence of stronger-than-average horizontal recoil makes the weapon somewhat unpredictable in automatic fire, while muzzle velocity is second lowest amongst the SMGs at 345 m/s, which cannot be modified via specializations. These factors befit a more close-quarters playstyle where its high damage potential can outpace slower-firing, more controllable SMGs.
MP28 Details:
- Unlocked at: Medic Rank 10
- Fire modes: Automatic
- Rate of Fire: 670 RPM
- Max Damage: 25.1
- Bullet-Velocity: 345 m/s
- Partial Reload: 2.40 seconds
- Empty Reload: 3.40 seconds
- Magazine: 30 Rounds | 50 Rounds (Extended Magazine)
#4 MP40
In Multiplayer, the MP40 is issued to the Medic class, unlocked at Medic rank 6. The weapon shares many attributes with the kit’s starting weapon, the STEN, including fire rate, magazine capacity, reserve supply, and specialization tree. It also possesses similarly light recoil including lower horizontal recoil, at the cost of a lower muzzle velocity of 455 m/s. The key strength of the MP40 is its greater base accuracy, coupled with a best-in-class partial reload of 1.96s. This allows the MP40 to rapidly reengage after depleting the magazine but is offset by a much less impressive 3.33s empty magazine reload. Despite its limited application in very close quarters due to its low rate of fire, the MP40 has considerable reach because of its light recoil, especially when tap-fired, in addition to increased sustainability in gunfights produced by a very short downtime between reloads, with the caveat that magazines must not completely be expended.
MP40 Details:
- Unlocked at: Medic Rank 6
- Fire modes: Fully Automatic
- Rate of Fire: 540 RPM
- Max Damage: 25.1
- Bullet-Velocity: 455 m/s
- Partial Reload: 1.96 seconds
- Empty Reload: 3.33 seconds
- Magazine: 32 Rounds
#5 STEN
The STEN is the starter weapon for the Medic kit, as well as the default weapon for the Pilot and Tanker kits.
The weapon can be considered a counterpart to the statistically similar MP40 – both weapons share rate of fire, magazine, and reserve ammo capacity, and specializations unlock paths. However, the STEN differentiates itself by having a slightly better performance at range due to greater muzzle velocity as well as slightly worse horizontal recoil. As with all submachine guns, the accuracy penalty for firing while moving or from the hip is much less than other types of weapons, making the weapon suitable for a more mobile playstyle. Although bested in most statistical categories by later unlocks and with a relatively low time-to-kill due to the 540 RPM rate, the forgiving recoil, and magazine capacity allows users to reliably hit targets in full auto with minimal mitigation, allowing the user to become familiar with the strengths and weaknesses of the SMG class.
STEN Details:
- Unlocked at: Default
- Fire modes: Automatic
- Rate of Fire: 540 RPM
- Max Damage: 25.1
- Bullet-Velocity: 495 m/s
- Partial Reload: 2.20 seconds
- Empty Reload: 3.07 seconds
- Magazine: 32 Rounds
#6 M1928A1
It is unlocked for the Medic kit at class rank 20. Unlike in previous games, the damage profile of the M1928A1’s .45 ACP round is practically identical to the other 9x19mm SMGs – starting at 25 damage and dropping off at the same rate to 12 damage.
The weapon is closest in performance to the Suomi KP/-31, with slightly better accuracy and control that comes from a marginally lower default rate of fire of 720 RPM – the second-highest in its class. This results in a very short time-to-kill at short range, although this comes at the cost of high per-shot recoil, very low muzzle velocity, and tied lowest magazine capacity in the category of 20 rounds. Paired with its high fire rate, standard magazines can be exhausted very quickly in fully automatic fire – while reload time is fortunately short, this potentially limits the number of enemies that can be engaged in sequence. The weapon has decent hip-fire accuracy inherent to the SMG class which can be further boosted through specializations and allows the weapon to retain effectiveness even while on the move.
M1928A1 Details:
- Unlocked at: Medic Rank 20
- Fire modes: Automatic
- Rate of Fire: 720 RPM | 900 RPM (Light Bolt)
- Max Damage: 25.1
- Bullet-Velocity: 330 m/s
- Partial Reload: 2.00 seconds | 2.35 seconds (Extended Magazine)
- Empty Reload: 2.95 seconds | 3.25 seconds (Extended Magazine)
- Magazine: 20 Rounds | 50 Rounds (Extended magazine)
#7 ZK-383
The ZK-383 is one of two SMGs, along with the Type 100, to have access to a bipod. This gives provides the weapon with a great deal of stability when it is deployed, aided by its already low recoil and rate of fire, which are both tied as lowest in class with the Type 100 and MP34, respectively. This grants the ZK-383 significantly better performance at range compared to other SMGs, although its damage profile and muzzle velocity are standard values for the category. While controllability is excellent, the low damage per second can potentially leave the user vulnerable at closer ranges.
ZK-383 Details:
- Unlock cost: 1700 Company Coins
- Fire modes: Fully Automatic | Semi-Automatic
- Rate of Fire: 514 RPM | 720 RPM (Light Bolt)
- Max Damage: 25.1
- Bullet-Velocity: 495 m/s – 560 m/s (High-Velocity Bullets)
- Partial Reload: 2.10 seconds
- Empty Reload: 2.96 seconds
- Magazine: 30 Rounds | 40 Rounds (Extended Magazine)
#8 SUOMI KP/-31
The SUOMI KP/-31 is the first unlock for the Medic at class rank 1. It has the highest fire rate of submachine guns, outperforming the similar M1928, of which it shares an identical upgrade tree, for the greatest damage output and thus the quickest time-to-kill in its category. However, the ability to make hits when firing fully automatic is limited by severe recoil. In addition to its highest in-class per-shot recoil, the Suomi KP/-31 possesses similarly unprecedented horizontal recoil that can make recoil patterns difficult to anticipate and adjust correspondingly. Furthermore, the default magazine size is a paltry 20 rounds which can be depleted in just over a second of uninterrupted fire. While undoubtedly effective when in close-quarters engagements against a single target, the Suomi may struggle to maintain its dominance past this distance, especially when faced with multiple opponents.
SUOMI KP/-31 Details:
- Unlocked at: Medic Rank 1
- Fire modes: Automatic | Semi-Automatic
- Rate of Fire: 770 RPM | 981 RPM (Light Bolt)
- Max Damage: 25.1
- Bullet-Velocity: 330 m/s
- Partial Reload: 2.50 seconds
- Empty Reload: 3.75 seconds
- Magazine: 20 Rounds | 50 Rounds (Extended Magazine)
#9 TYPE 100
The Type 100 can be considered lower damage but a more controllable alternative within the high ROF subcategory of submachine guns, comprised of the Suomi KP/-31, MP28, and M1928A1. Possessing a partially unique damage model that features lower base damage, the weapon is a minimum five-shot kill out to only 10m, after which point it suffers relatively severe damage drop-off, typically taking an extra bullet or two to kill at all ranges except maximum when compared with four-shot minimum SMGs. However, to balance this Type 100 has a high fire rate of 720 RPM, combined with the lowest recoil amongst the submachine guns, tied with the default ZK-383. This allows the weapon to keep pace with most others at close range, while also helping accuracy at medium range with minimal compensation. Recoil can be further reduced by using the bipod, although mediocre muzzle velocity can interfere with hit probability and long-range. Magazine capacity and reload speed are both standards.
TYPE 100 Details:
- Fire modes: Fully Automatic
- Rate of Fire: 720 RPM
- Max Damage: 20.1
- Bullet-Velocity: 420 m/s
- Partial Reload: 2.40 seconds
- Empty Reload: 3.25 seconds
- Magazine: 30 Rounds
#10 TYPE 2A
The primary strength of the Type 2A is its very short Time-to-Kill, the shortest out of any of the submachine guns as a direct result of its high rate of fire, which even exceeds the default MG 42. This is in spite of a mediocre five-shot kill at minimum range and high damage drop-off past 10m, characteristics inherited from the use of Type 100’s damage model. Its rapid consumption of ammunition is counteracted by very quick reloads, although its effectiveness at medium range is further hampered by low muzzle velocity and very high recoil. Regardless, the Type 2A overshadows much of the competition at close range thanks to its power and responsiveness.
TYPE 2A Details
- Unlock cost: 1700 Company Coins
- Fire modes: Fully Automatic
- Rate of Fire: 1028 RPM | 1200 RPM (Light Bolt)
- Max Damage: 20.1
- Bullet-Velocity: 315 m/s
- Partial Reload: 1.93 seconds
- Empty Reload: 2.80 seconds
- Magazine: 30+1 Rounds | 50+1 Rounds (Extended Magazine)

Battlefield 5 Best Assault Weapons
The Assault class excels at medium to long-range combat thanks to its monopoly on assault rifles and semi-automatics. Ranked Assault Guns in BF5 from Worst to Best.
#1 GEWEHR 43
The GEWEHR 43 is unlocked for the Assault kit at class rank 1. The Gewehr 43’s primary asset is its high damage, which is tied with the Selbstlader 1916 and Karabin 1938M for best in class amongst the semi-automatic rifles. It kills consistently with three body shots out to 103m, being further capable of a two-hit kill at medium range if one is a headshot. Its high bullet velocity allows it to perform better at range than most other semi-automatics, and as such can be paired with a Medium Range Scope to function similarly to a Recon Self-Loading Rifle.
These strengths are compensated for by a low magazine capacity of 10 rounds, slow default reloads using 5-round stripper clips, highest recoil in its category, and lowest fire rate in its category at 300 RPM (on par with Karabin 1938M and M1 Garand with Heavy Load specialization), the latter of which can leave users vulnerable when faced with fully automatic weapons at close range.
Gewehr 43 Details:
- Unlocked at: Assault Rank 1
- Fire modes: Semi-Automatic
- Rate of Fire: 300 RPM
- Max Damage: 45
- Bullet-Velocity: 760 – 860 m/s
- Partial Reload: 2.25 seconds
- Empty Reload: 3.15 seconds
- Magazine: 10 Rounds
#2 STG 44
The STG 44 is the Rank 13 weapon of the Assault class and the last assault rifle acquired from class progression. It shares some statistical similarities with the Sturmgewehr 1-5, with both weapons having the same muzzle velocity and magazine capacity. The STG 44 has the second slowest full-auto fire rate out of the assault rifles at 600 RPM, beating only the Ribeyrolles 1918. This gives the STG 44 a modest time-to-kill at closer ranges and helps mitigate the weapon’s heavy per-shot recoil which is the second-highest among assault rifles. Despite this, the slower firing rate means the STG 44 can achieve accurate shots at a decent range. To assist with its accuracy, the STG 44 has very low first-shot recoil, which extends to its fourth bullet, making burst firing extremely effective for further ranges. The STG 44 has a solid magazine size of 31, which complements the weapon’s slower fire rate compared to the other assault rifles, allowing the weapon to stay in the fight for longer. The reload is a bit on the slower side, which can be detrimental during close-quarters combat.
STG 44 Details:
- Unlocked at: Assault Rank 13
- Fire modes:
- Automatic
- Semi-Automatic
- Rate of Fire: 600 RPM
- Max Damage: 25.1
- Bullet-Velocity: 600 m/s
- Partial Reload: 2.40 seconds
- Empty Reload: 3.10 seconds
- Magazine: 31 Rounds
#3 M1 GARAND
Statistically, the M1 GARAND can be categorized amongst the middle-range, clip-loading semi-autos of the Turner SMLE and MAS 44, it being a relatively high fire rate rifle with a potential to kill in three hits out to 30m, four at 100m, and five at all other ranges. There are several minor differentiating characteristics, however, with the most notable departure lying with Garand’s controllability, reloading method, and capacity. By default, the M1 features the lowest vertical recoil of any of the semi-autos, which allows accuracy to be maintained even at high fire rates. Muzzle velocity is also a respectable 780 m/s, outperforming the long-range semi-automatics such as the Gewehr 43 in this regard. The weapon is also fed by an en-bloc clip, which prevents magazine “topping-up” possible on stripper clip-fed rifles in exchange for a uniform partial reload speed, and faster empty reload. These favorable characteristics combined are paid for by an eight-round magazine capacity – two bullets less than the standard fare – which limits the number of targets the user can engage before reloading. Overall the soft recoil allows the user a higher degree of precision, required to make up for the reduced capacity.
M1 Garand Details:
- Unlocked at: Company Coins
- Fire modes: Semi-Automatic
- Rate of Fire: 300 – 360 RPM
- Max Damage: 40 – 45
- Bullet-Velocity: 780 m/s
- Partial Reload: 3.0 seconds
- Empty Reload: 2.7 seconds
- Magazine: 8 Rounds
#4 M2 CARBINE
With the exception of velocity, the M2 Carbine is statistically different from the M1A1 Carbine, the most notable of which is the addition of select-fire capabilities. It is also fairly distinct amongst assault rifles – whereas all of its contemporaries kill in four hits, the Carbine is a minimum five-body shot kill. This means that damage is consistently lower than all other assault rifles regardless of range, however, this is offset at close range by its very high rate of fire which allows for the second quickest minimum achievable time-to-kill in its class, behind the M1907 SF. Combat at the range is further aided by relatively low recoil and semi-automatic capability. Magazine and ammunition capacity are also above average for the class, rounding out the weapon’s versatility.
M2 Carbine Details:
- Unlocked at: Default
- Fire modes:
- Fully Automatic
- Semi-Automatic
- Rate of Fire: 830 RPM
- Max Damage: 20.1
- Bullet-Velocity: 610 m/s
- Partial Reload: 2.20 seconds
- Empty Reload: 3.05 seconds
- Magazine: 31 Rounds
#5 PIAT
Compared to the Panzerfaust and M1A1 Bazooka, the PIAT deals more damage with a larger blast area of 5m outer and 1.5m inner, and with much greater destructive performance against structures. Uniquely, this allows the gadget to function effectively as an anti-infantry weapon, as well as having the greatest per-hit damage against armor. The PIAT is also the fastest-loading launcher of the three.
In exchange for these statistical advantages, the PIAT has a higher ricochet chance in addition to the severely limited range when used in a direct-fire role. Its projectile suffers constant deceleration after firing, and is nearly doubly susceptible to gravity than the Panzerfaust and more than triple that of the Bazooka, resulting in a high drop. This can make hitting moving targets especially troublesome, requiring a high degree of compensation.
In spite of this, the weapon has some mechanical provisions to assist with calculating drop. By opening the minimap while aiming, the user can observe the impact point of a projectile, relative to their elevation. This can allow them to adjust to a spotted enemy or marked position. The significant drop can also allow players to hit tanks on their top armor, where they present a much larger target and potentially kill turret machine gunners, or attack positions from cover by staying out of the direct line of sight. This can present a problem when shooting from indoors or with overhead cover, as compensating for distance may cause the projectile to hit a ceiling or window frame when firing.
PIAT Details
- Unlocked at: Assault Rank 11
- Fire modes: Single-Shot
- Max Damage: 170 (Impact) – 90 (Blast)
- Bullet-Velocity: 40 m/s
- Reload: 2.9s
- Magazine: 1

Battlefield 5 Best Support Weapons
#1 MG 42
The MG 42 is the second unlockable medium machine gun and is the final unlock for the Support kit overall, available from rank 20.
The MG 42 possesses the second-highest rate of fire amongst all fully automatic weapons at 981 RPM, which can be bolstered to 1200 RPM when using the Light Bolt specialization. As such it has one of the shortest times-to-kill of both the Medium and Light machine guns. Similarly unparalleled is its levels of recoil, being very difficult to control unless used in short bursts or when aided by the Recoil Buffer specialization, on top of having the highest per-shot recoil in class. Furthermore, its accuracy and control in the hip fire are the lowest possible, statistically.
As with all other Medium Machine Guns, the MG 42 is best used defensively, where its high rate of fire can have a rapid, deadly effect against exposed infantry. Its inability to use Iron Sights when not supported by a Bipod, and abysmal controllability when hip-fired, make the MG 42 generally unsuitable for offensive, shoot-on-the-move playstyles, except at extremely close quarters where accuracy is effectively guaranteed.
MG 42 Details:
- Unlocked at: Support Rank 20
- Fire modes: Automatic
- Rate of Fire:
- 981 RPM
- 1200 RPM (Machined Bolt)
- Max Damage: 25.1
- Bullet-Velocity: 740 m/s
- Partial Reload: 4.15 seconds
- Empty Reload: 5.80 seconds
- Magazine: 50 Rounds
#2 FG-42
The FG-42 is unlocked for the Support at class rank 16. With the highest fire rate and the lowest magazine capacity of the LMGs, the FG-42 has the second quickest time to kill in its class (behind the BAR M1918A2 on its Fast ROF mode), at the cost of low controllability and frequent reloads. With per-shot vertical recoil being the highest in its class in addition to possessing higher than average horizontal recoil, the FG-42 can be unpredictable during an uninterrupted fire. Although its integral Bipod and select-fire capability allow it to engage targets at an extended range, the weapon’s recoil characteristics generally favor a more aggressive playstyle, at least compared to the other weapons in said category.
FG-42 Details:
- Unlocked at: Support Rank 16
- Fire modes:
- Fully Automatic
- Semi-Automatic
- Rate of Fire: 670 RPM
- Max Damage: 25.1
- Bullet-Velocity: 740 m/s
- Partial Reload: 2.25 seconds
- Empty Reload: 3.45 seconds
- Magazine: 20 Rounds
#3 12G AUTOMATIC
Presently, the 12g Automatic is the only semi-automatic shotgun in the game. It has a higher fire rate than the pump-action M1897, but lower than the M30 Drilling. Its default magazine capacity of 4+1 is on par with the M1897, as is spread, damage range, velocity, and pellet count. However, the 12g Automatic has a slightly slower per-shell reload and a marginally faster empty reload, as well as being faster to ready when reload canceling. Overall, the 12g Automatic has the lowest damage potential amongst the shotguns – despite still being capable of a one-hit kill in close quarters, the range at which this is possible is 1m shorter than the M1897. Recoil is the lowest in its category but is still high in relative terms – when fired at max rate, some compensation is required to keep follow-up shots on target.
12G Automatic Details:
- Unlocked at: Support Rank 5
- Fire modes: Semi-Automatic
- Rate of Fire:
- 138 RPM
- 163 RPM (Trigger Job)
- Magazine:
- 4+1 Shells
- 6+1 Shells (Extended Magazine)
- Starting/Maximum Ammunition:
- 30+5 Shells
- 30+7 Shells (Extended Magazine)
#4 M30 DRILLING
The M30 DRILLING is unlocked for the Support kit at class rank 13. It is fairly unique amongst the shotguns, as the player can use the select fire function to switch between the two shotgun barrels and the single rifle barrel. The two systems have individual ammo pools and are reloaded independently of one another by using the fire selector. Firing 12 Gauge Buckshot, the shotgun portion of the weapon has both the highest fire rate in its class as well as superior damage potential – this is partly due to the higher pellet count at 48, which greatly increases both damage output and chance to hit.
The considerable offensive power of the M30 is limited by the lowest per-reload capacity of only two rounds. This means that although kills are achieved more consistently within a close to medium range, with a second follow-up shot available almost immediately if necessary, reloads are inexorably frequent – the per-shot reloading process is also the longest in class. The requirement is that players are generally limited to confrontational engagements against one or two enemies at a time.
